Adios, 2024
+ End of year giveaway! šš + A humble request
With just a few weeks left of 2024, I feel like Iām huffing and puffing my way to the end. For the past 6 months, life has been careening between chaos and mayhem. Itās been dee-lightful.
So while Iām happy to be closing out the year, the year was perfectly banal. And that is a GOOD thing. At this point in life, I welcome banality with open arms. Banal is comforting and reassuring. (Twenties me would be shuddering with horror at this paragraph).
Amid a lot of personal chaos, my actual real-life job changed and I was significantly worried about what that would mean for this newsletter. Iām relieved to say, my commitment hasnāt faltered. Itās reminded me of how much I value this outlet for creativity and childish wonder (both criminally undervalued in my job). So, while there were some weeks where I wondered how the heck Iād hit the āPublishā button on time, Iām happy that I powered through. If anything, Iām reminded why the mission of this newsletter means so much to me.
So when I think back on how this newsletter developed in 2024, hereās a snapshot of whatās going on in my head:
I published 50 posts and thatās a number Iām super proud of but Iād still have liked to have published more
I launched the paid tier and Iām so thankful to those supporting me through that tier; it means so much to me to have your support
For the paid subscribers, Iām noodling on a few ideas of how I can provide you with more content in 2025. Stay tuned for more infoāIād love to get your feedback on some ideas.
The list format for book recommendations works well and I donāt see the need to change anything on that front
The Classics Corner series has been a favorite with you all and Iām excited to keep that going next year
I have some neat book lists planned for next year and Iām excited to get cracking on them.
And of course, this year would not have been possible without your support. Forever and always so grateful for your presence here. Thank you!
