A few years back for Alan Alda's Flame challenge, he had scientists try to explain time to an 11 year old. Here is the winning entry: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2_nfmt3mxc
Not to put to fine a point on it but the first time I ever picked up This Book is About Time by Marilyn Burns, it blew my effing mind. (Just a book about time, not time travel, but I wasn't going to pass up mentioning it here!)
I love these recs! My 3 year old has NO concept of time so it might be good to introduce some of these yesterday tomorrow. I love a good time travel book but my only solid kid lit rec is A Wrinkle in Time. Slowest part of my day: the last 2 hours of work. SLUMP. The fastest part of my day is always the first hour of work (and lunch). Oh, and the few hours I get at home to do my real life stuff.
A Wrinkle in Time is such a classic! I've been meaning to watch the movie that came out recently (oh wait, it's been 7 years 😅). We're slowly starting to introduce time to the toddler but, given how long everything takes, we haven't done a great job of explaining how time can be urgent too 🫠
These are all new to me! “A Second is a Hiccup” is totally up my preschooler’s alley. We’ll be checking out that one! The only books about time we’ve tried in our house are books about the seasons. “Such a Little Mouse” has recently charmed both my three- and five-year-old.

WOW, this was excellent. I think my head just exploded.

Ohh it looks so good! I've reserved it at the library. Thank you for sharing! I can't wait to check it out (pun intended 😉).

Thank you!

Oh Such A Little Mouse sounds so endearing. I’m going to have to find it! Thank you for sharing.
Just requested these-thank you! My favorite time travel show was El Minestereo del Tiempo (The Ministry of Time).
