Hi! What are you talking about with cornstarch?!?! I feel like you are going to change my life with this fact and also I’m currently covered in sand. Love this list and everything you are doing. Summer!!! Is chaotic and beautiful!!!

Summer is indeed chaos but as long as the sun is out all day long I don’t mind 😎

For the cornstarch, you just drizzle it on wherever you’ve got sand and then wipe it off. It works really great when you’ve got wet sand stuck to you. I think because the powder is so fine, it gets under the sand really well and helps push it off.

As always, this is a wonderful list of kids summer books.

Perfect timing too as I have several friends' kids birthdays coming up and these will make for great gifts!

I'm really curious to see what sunscreens everyone recommends! We normally use a mineral sunscreen because the FDA says it's most effective, and because it's without all the endocrine-disrupters. But the white cast!! Especially on my children (who are darker complected than I am)! Other kids and adults comment on it, and it makes my kids self-conscious.

I HATE white cast. I was reading that Australian sunscreens are really good and most of them are reef-safe which means they’re also pretty gentle.

Great list! Another one that should be on your radar if it isn’t already is “Mama Is It Summer Yet?” which features a mother-and-child duo with beautiful and diverse illustrations.

All about Supergoop play for my kids sunscreen!

I was debating it because it’s such a wonderful book! But you will see it on another list 😉

I didn’t know Supergoop had a kid’s sunscreen. Thanks for the heads up!

I just use Supergoop Play. Probably not for babies, but great for kids!

Love these recs and have added a few to our library list—we have just met Leo in Leo Can Swim and my 15 month old (and 3 year old!) are in love with looking at all the babies doing real things. Can’t wait to try this one!

I’ve had great luck with the Babo Botanicals sensitive skin baby sunscreen for my kids—easy to rub in and very minimal white cast. I’ve started using ISDIN Erydotona Actinica (?) sunscreen at the rec of my sister’s dermatologist and it supposedly counteracts sun damage that has already occurred. Have only used it on my face so far (only have time to spray my own body by the time we finally make it to the pool) but maybe I should be using it all over!

Thank you! I’ve heard some good things about both the sunscreens you mentioned so I’ve added them to our shopping list. And boy do I hear you about having only enough energy to sunscreen my face. 🥴
